ZRH14 is a small fit-out project of Amazon offices in Zürich, Switzerland. The site is in a listed historical building alongside boutique shops in the centre of Zürich.
The scope was to create a forward-looking costumer-facing office suitable for client meetings, events as well as have hot spot areas for working. Thus, the design approach was slightly more sophisticated and delicate than in typical Amazon projects. The goals was to bring the interiors into a new area, but also celebrate the building’s historic architectural value. Great level of attention was put into designing the reception space on ground floor, where the end result, however, remains well within the pretty narrow construction zone and looks inviting from the street.
The concept of the project is merging a No18, a cosmopolitan members’ club for business, aspirations with the references to the history of the building. Its look and feel is contrasting mixing modern and traditional and focusing on natural materials and neutral tones. The light paint and minimalistic yet traditional trims on the walls and ceilings create a soothing backdrop for the crittall glazed partitions, classic style furniture and coffee points that are big on character.
