MUC14 POP is a small refresh project of the Amazon’s already existing offices located in a multi-tenanted campus building in Munich. The site building, known as Siemens Forum, was built by architect Richard Meier in 1998 and renovated in 2017.
Focusing solely on the reception space and the kitchenette area, the goal of the project was to reuse as much of the existing furniture and finishes as possible, but give these vital spaces an uplifted new look. Thus, the reused elements, including most of the furniture, dictated the general colour palette.
The spaces have been transformed through the use of new lighting fixtures, wall finishes and various feature joinery pieces. Some unique design elements include the mint colour perforated metal part of the reception desk and a lighting above it, as well as the 3D wall features made of acoustic material that incorporate lighting and amazon principles.
