IAS13 is a new fit-out project of Amazon offices spanning across six floors of a new purpose-built office block. The site is directly opposite the Palace of Culture in the centre of Iasi, Romania, benefiting the office with not just the best possible location but with exceptional views.
The concept of the project is celebrating the surrounding hills in which Iasi is located. The seven hills form the backdrop to the city, each one different and offering something unique to Iasi and its surrounding areas. As the user group of this office is predominantly young and in the beginning of their career, the concept is paired with the idea of exploration with achievements along the way.
The concept is emphasised by the buildings architectural features such as the staggered facade, but also, for instance, by the graphics and custom-made wall murals by local artist. The artworks depict the symbolic meaning behind each of the seven hills and show direct links to Romanian culture, folklore, historical references and much more. For the future proofing purposes, the artworks have been painted on smaller interlinking canvases, making them easy to move and reinstall to a different location or site if required. The overall look and feel is inspired by the seven hills, the nature and the variations within.
